The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) has partnered with the Arizona Burn Foundation and the Red Cross of Arizona to hold a Community Smoke Alarm Walk in Prescott Valley, Arizona on September 9, 2023. Community smoke alarm outreach initiatives allow for the free installation of smoke alarms in high-risk neighborhoods. The three partner organizations are currently searching for volunteers to assist in making the event a success. 'Families are welcome, and we want community members to know that tools and training will be provided – there's no experience necessary,' said Kathy Goodman, CAFMA Community Relations Coordinator, 'And bonus, breakfast will be provided that morning!' 'Working smoke alarms save lives,' added CAFMA Fire Marshal Darrell Tirpak.
